Texas Teenager Arrested in Convenience Store Robbery

When a person is accused of a crime in Texas, there are often a variety of different options available. In many cases, those facing an interrogation by police officers might be unsure of their constitutional rights or too intimidated to invoke them. As such, those accused of robbery and other crimes want an experienced criminal defense attorney on their side from the earliest stages.

In fact, a teenager may want such advice as he navigates the criminal justice system following the charges recently filed against him. The charges stem from what appears to be an unsuccessful robbery attempt that happened at approximately 9:30 a.m. on a day in September. Reports claim that a man who had his face and head covered with a T-shirt entered a convenience store with a gun.

Police claim that the person then attempted to reach over the counter into a cash register, but a store clerk was able to disarm him. The person is said to have fled the premises, leaving behind the gun and the T-shirt. Police say they arrested a 19-year-old male soon after.

Despite the arrest and subsequent aggravated robbery charge, it is unclear what led law enforcement officers to the young man or what evidence supports the charges against him. Unfortunately, the consequences of a conviction are severe and include a sentence of up to 99 years behind bars. Fortunately, an experienced attorney can help the young Texas man fully understand his options and choose the path that is most appropriate for his individual circumstances.
