When most people are faced with a potentially life-threatening situation, their adrenaline kicks in. Sometimes memories from such an event can be hazy, even distorted, and could make their recollections regarding the incident unreliable. Despite this, police in Texas are searching for a teenager that the victim of an aggravated robbery allegedly identified.
Reports indicate that the incident happened on a day in mid-November. The two male victims were reportedly walking as they returned from a convenience store. They were allegedly approached by a group described as comprised of several young men. Someone in the group reportedly pulled out a gun and demanded that the two turn over their belongings; the group is said to have stolen the victims’ money, cellphones, and clothes.
Police say that one of the victims recognized a 17-year-old male in the group. Despite the reports of this identification, it is unclear if the teenager that was identified as the one with the gun or whether the other people in the group are also facing charges. Police have asked that anyone with information regarding the young man’s whereabouts contact them.
Regardless of the allegations made by the victim of the alleged robbery in Texas, there must be sufficient evidence presented in court to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt for a person to be convicted of a crime. Often, those facing criminal accusations are unsure of their rights and options. Fortunately, there are experienced professionals who can guide them throughout the process, including during initial questioning when they can ensure that a person providing information to the police fully understands the implications of it.
