4 Under the Age of 18 Charged With Robbery in Texas

When people in Texas — especially young people — find themselves facing criminal charges, they are often unsure of their options or who to turn to for guidance. Unfortunately, four young people may now be feeling confused and uncertain following their recent arrests. Police claim that the four were involved in a robbery string.

The incidents that led to their arrest reportedly began just after 5:30 a.m. on a day in early March. Reports claim that the four entered the lobby of a hotel and demanded money from a cash register. After the clerk was reportedly unable to open a safe, one of the teenagers is said to have struck her with a gun.

Police say that after the teenagers left the together in a blue sedan, they robbed a doughnut shop and another hotel before they were spotted by a police officer and taken into custody. Two of those allegedly involved, both 17 years old, are charged with assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated robbery. Information on the other two — described as juveniles — is unavailable other than reports indicating that they are in police custody.

The criminal justice system is overwhelming for adults and must seem especially so for these teens facing accusations of robbery and assault in Texas. Without legal training, it is often difficult to fully understand the ramifications of decisions made following an arrest. As such, there are experienced professionals who can help guide these teenagers through the decisions that they must make — decisions that will likely have a significant impact on the rest of their lives.
